USU STARS! GEAR UP doesn't stop with high school. The following resources are available to you as a GEAR UP graduate, including GEAR UP College Advisors. These student-focused points of contact are located at a campus near you, and are available to answer questions and help you be successful in college.

GEAR UP College Advisors

GEAR UP College advisors are available to all students that graduate from any of our participating schools in the year following graduation, including students taking a break from their education between high school and college. College advisors can help with navigating campus resources, give FAFSA and scholarship advice, offer workshops, coach you on career options, and much more!

GEAR UP Texting

GEAR UP texting is the best way to reach your GEAR UP College Advisor. This service allows students to easily reach out to their GEAR UP college advisor with their educational questions. Our college advisors are educational professionals that can help you with school and career planning.

The service works in two ways where GEAR UP college advisors and the GEAR UP program will send out periodic school updates, important information, and educational opportunities. Advisors are typically available during normal school hours.

Student Success Agency (SSA) is the first agency that represents students instead of celebrities and athletes. They pair USU GEAR UP students with Agents who help them work towards their goals. Students can receive the following services through their freshman year of college

SSA's Specialists are subject matter experts who provide unlimited tutoring support to students, including after school and on the weekends.

  • Scan the QR code or go to studentsuccess.co/welcome to fill out the welcome form
  • Follow the prompts, including texting the code
  • Respond to the SSA team's text
  • If you are under 18, send the consent form link to a parent/guardian, if you are 18 or older, fill it out yourself
  • You will receive your Agent introduction from the SSA team via text

TI-Nspire™ CX/CX CAS Student Software is yours for free. The software will let you use your computer to do all the things your calculator does for you. Download the software and activate it using the code on the card you received for graduation. You can also contact us using GEAR UP text messages (see above) for the code.
